What To Expect In The IIMK Admission Process?
The IIM Kozhikode PGPX (Postgraduate Programme in Business Leadership) is a one-year, full-time residential management programme designed to transform experienced professionals into value-driven business leaders. The admission process at IIMK is a comprehensive, multi-stage evaluation that ensures only the most suitable candidates—academically capable and leadership-oriented — are selected.
The process is divided into three distinct stages, conducted across three independent admission phases each year. Here are the details:
IIMK PGP BL Eligibility Criteria

Minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in Graduation (any discipline) or Post-Graduation / CA / CMA (ICWA) / CS.

Valid GMAT / GRE / CAT score (taken within the previous 3 years).

IIMK accepts GMAT Focus Edition scores. Home-based GRE/GMAT scores are not accepted.

Minimum 4 years of full-time, remunerative work experience after graduation (as of March 31, 2026).

Scanned documents (Soft copies – Max 2 MB each, in JPEG/JPG/PNG/PDF format).

After submitting the application, candidates are shortlisted based on their academic profile, work experience, and test scores (GMAT/GRE/CAT).

All uploaded documents are verified for accuracy. Applications incomplete in any way will not be evaluated.

Shortlisted candidates are then invited to submit a Statement of Goals and an Alternative Resume Essay (time-bound, within a few days).

Candidates must also ensure their two referees submit online recommendations on time.
Interview Process
The IIMK interview is conducted to evaluate a candidate’s leadership potential, professional depth, communication ability, and alignment with the values of the PGP-BL programme.

The discussion-style interview focuses on understanding a candidate’s career journey, clarity of goals, and motivation to pursue leadership education.

Final Selection
Once the interviews are over, the Admission Committee at IIM Kozhikode evaluates each candidate's overall profile and performance across all stages of the selection process. A merit list is prepared for each phase of admission based on the parameters. Offers are made in order of merit, in accordance with the Government of India's reservation policy.
Candidates who receive an admission offer must confirm it by paying an offer acceptance fee of ₹1,00,000. This amount is adjusted against the first installment of the programme fee. If a candidate withdraws within the given period, a refund is issued after deducting ₹1,000 as processing charges.
A limited waitlist is maintained, and offers are made as seats become available.
